How Old Was Carls Actor In Season 8

So, there I was, binge-watching Game of Thrones for the umpteenth time, when it hit me. I mean, really hit me. Like, a dragon's fire hit me. I suddenly wondered, just how old was Carl - I mean, Kit Harington - when he was filming Season 8?

Now, I know what you're thinking. "Why does it matter, insert your name here?" Well, bear with me. It's not just idle curiosity. It's... well, it's research! Yes, I'm turning this into a legitimate quest for knowledge. You're welcome.

Let's Time Travel, Shall We?

First, we need to establish when Season 8 was filmed. It was a long, grueling process, spanning from October 2017 to July 2018. So, let's grab our time-traveling TARDIS and set the coordinates for October 2017.

In October 2017, Kit Harington, our beloved Jon Snow, was... drumroll please... 30 years old! Yes, you heard it right. The man who played the King in the North was already a decade older than his character. Mind. Blown.

But Wait, There's More!

Now, you might be thinking, "Okay, so he was 30 when they started filming. But what about when they wrapped up?" Well, my curious friend, let's fast-forward to July 2018.

The Walking Dead Carl

In July 2018, Kit Harington was... wait for it... 31 years old! That's right. By the time the final episode aired, our dear Jon Snow had aged another year in real life, while he remained the same age in Westeros. Talk about a time paradox!

But here's the thing, folks. While Kit was busy growing older in our world, his character was busy... well, not. Jon Snow, as we all know, is stuck in his 20s. I mean, sure, he's been through a lot. He's been killed, brought back, became King in the North, then King of the Seven Kingdoms, and then... well, you know what happened. But physiologically, he's still a young man.

So, Why Does It Matter?

You might still be wondering why any of this matters. Well, it doesn't. Not really. It's just a fun fact. A trivia tidbit to pull out at your next GoT marathon. But hey, it's not every day you get to play detective and solve the mystery of an actor's age. Right?

Besides, it's fascinating to think about the passage of time. How we, as viewers, aged with the actors, while the characters remained frozen in time. It's like a real-life version of the Benjamin Button conundrum. Or maybe I've just been thinking about this for too long. Either way, it's been a fun ride!

So, there you have it. Kit Harington was 30 when Season 8 filming began and 31 when it wrapped. Now, go forth and impress your friends with your newfound knowledge. And remember, next time you're watching Jon Snow brood on screen, just remember, the actor behind him is a decade older. Isn't that just... dragon's fire fascinating?
